CAO Online Change of Mind Facility 2023

The CAO Online Change of Mind Facility opens this Fri. 5th May at 12 noon.

It allows applicants to change course choices, as often as they wish, free of charge, until 5pm on the 1st July. You can add, delete, or change the order of preference of courses during this window. Some restrictions apply.

This is the time to think carefully about your courses because once 5pm on the 1st July comes around, there is no going back on your course lists! There is lots of time over the coming weeks to research your courses and compile your course lists. Do not submit any course without checking important details such as entry requirements, course content and subjects taught.

Applicants can add 10 level 8 and 10 level 6/7 course choices. Complete both lists if eligible to do so. One list does not impact on the other. It is like two applications in one. At offer stage, you may be offered a level 8 course and level 6/7 course choice. You can then decide if you would like to accept or decline either or. Some students at this stage may also decide to defer their course offer for one year.

When completing your CAO, it is so important that you list your course choices in genuine order of preference and not points. Place your dream courses at the top of your application, regardless of points. Then add in four or five realistic courses and follow this with a few back up options that you feel you have already.

If you submit a Change of Mind, it cancels and supersedes all the previous course choices. You will receive an email to confirm your new course choices. You can also log in to your account via the My Application facility to confirm that all your details are recorded correctly.

If there are any errors or omissions, contact CAO immediately. Do not wait until August as it will be too late to do anything about them at that stage.
